NITRO-PAK Preparedness Center, Inc. has been voted as the 2013 WINNER of "Best of State" award for the "Preparedness Foods & Supplies" category.
SALT LAKE CITY—April 5, 2013—Nitro-Pak Preparedness Center, Heber City, UT was named the winner in the ‘Preparedness Foods & Supplies’ category for Utah’s Best of State Awards for 2013 among strong competition.
Now in its eleventh year, the Utah Best of State Awards Program acknowledges excellence in a vast array of industry sectors including business, entertainment, education, hospitality, retail, technology, and sports. More than 200 specific category winners have been acknowledged within ten main category divisions in this program that is dedicated to recognizing and promoting outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout Utah.
Nitro-Pak’s President, Harry R. Weyandt, was surprised to be selected again for the second time in three years since the Preparedness Foods & Supplies category first began. Upon receiving the news of being selected to receive the Best of State award, Mr. Weyandt said that “Nitro-Pak is humbled and sincerely honored again to receive this prestigious award. Our goal for the past 28 years has been to provide our customers with superior long-storing foods and tried and proven preparedness supplies while providing outstanding customer service second to none in our industry”.
He went on to say that “In a state with the largest contingency of preparedness and food storage companies in the nation, to be selected as the Best of State is indeed a rare and high honor to receive.” Since their beginnings as a small home based business and quickly rising to becoming one of the key leaders in the preparedness industry, the company has strived to serve their customers and clients with sound preparedness advice, high quality products and dependable service, both before and after the sale. Evidence of that is backed by their superior A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau, which is a high achievement for any business in and of itself.
Nitro-Pak was the first company to set the benchmark for food reserve units that exceeded the industry norm. The company was also the first preparedness company to offer freeze-dried foods and complete cooked and prepared freeze-dried meals in the nation. They saw that customers wanted faster and easier foods as part of their preparedness reserves. Today, these have become the industry standard everywhere.
Nitro-Pak was also the leading innovator in offering totally “no-cooking and no preparation” food reserve units with “just-add-water-and-eat” convenience. In addition Nitro-Pak was the first to offer the longest 100% Satisfaction Warranty in the industry-- 120-Days. Mr. Weyandt said that “We are proud of the many first’s we have made over the years, but we know that leaders must continue to innovate if they are to lead in their field. We never rest on past laurels. No business can afford that luxury and remain completive in today’s fast changing business world”.
Mr. Weyandt went on to say that “The backbone of our success has been our loyal and dedicated team of preparedness professionals here at Nitro-Pak. We would not be where we are today without them. Their contributions have been truly significant to the growth of our business and we sincerely thank each of them for that. They pull off the incredible every day and we are so proud of them. No great business rises to the top without hard working and dedicated employees. It just can’t be done and we are no exception.”
In Heber City, their home for the past 19 years, Nitro-Pak has been actively involved within their community. They have served and been members of the local Chamber of Commerce.
They have donated and participated in many local events and community fundraisers. Harry and his wife Vickie are strong supporters of education and have also provided over $43,000 in local scholarships to high school seniors to help meet a portion of their college expenses. Their generosity has touched the lives of many people within the Heber valley.
As the president of Nitro-Pak Preparedness Center, Inc., Mr. Weyandt concluded telling us that “As a company, we are dedicated to continuing to lead the industry in providing innovative solutions for long-term food reserves and high quality preparedness products that can be depended on to provide “greater peace-of-mind and security” in today’s uncertain times. We are honored again to be recognized as The Best of State.”
According to chief executive officer Dana Layton, winners of the 2013 Best of State Awards have been rated and judged on their impact on the community, excellence and achievement, and innovation and originality. This year’s judging was hosted by Salt Lake Community College’s Miller Business Resource Center and took place over a period of four full days. An independent judging process, featuring judges with category-specific credentials, has resulted in a confidential tabulation of results by the Gilbert & Stewart accounting firm, and will culminate in a formal Awards Gala presentation on May11, 2013.
At the Awards Gala, winners will receive minted bronze gold-plated Best of State medals and will also be eligible to win the Best of State Statue, a coveted 24-karat gold-plated bronze and granite sculpture that features the Best of State motto, “Excelling and Surpassing All Else.”
