Our Suture and Surgical Kits provide the essentials needed to perform minor surgery or suturing and have been reviewed by a medical doctor. All instruments are made of Surgical HOSPITAL GRADE Stainless-Steel. Another big difference in our kits is that we use only FRESH DATED Hospital Grade Sutures and components, not old surplus or expired sutures found elsewhere.
We have often been asked why we offer these kits when most of us, myself included, would have no idea how to use them. The answer is very simple: in a major disaster or emergency, where immediate field surgery or suturing is needed and you can't get to a hospital or the hospitals are full, you are more likely to find someone who has the skills to use these contents than it will be to find the same qualified person and expect them to have these supplies at their finger tips. The odds of that are very slim indeed.
If your search is for price alone and you're unconcerned about getting fresh dated sutures and hospital grade stainless-steel components, I'm sure you'll find cheaper kits out there that LOOK about the same as ours at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you'll really be getting something much less for your money. Hey, I love a great deal as much as anyone, but I hate to be taken and get something far less than I thought I was purchasing. Enough said.

Quality Whether or not you currently have the expertise with which to use this particular emergency kit, it really does belong in every family's home medical kit. It should also be in the portion of your home kit you would depart with, if evacuating. For under fifty dollars, this is a surprisingly good quality kit. Although suturing is not something untrained people should attempt without guidance of some kind, this kit, once the stainless steel components are boiled, or at times, soaked in alcohol, could permit a family to safely remove a barbed hook, for example from a finger following fishing. One could remove a splinter, large or otherwise. One could remove gravel from roadburn, or even a foreign object which you could already see in a child's ear or nose. Of course, no one should be practicing medicine on ones family, and this is no substitute for your own physician's genuine medical advice, but if a physician tells you to do a particular thing on an icy stormy night, it would be great to have the correct instrument with which to do it. This year, I plan to get another one to mark "Veterinary Use Only" for my farm animals, and I intend to give some as gifts.
