Storage and HandlingDO NOT OPEN UNTIL READY TO USE It is necessary to store Mountain House products properly to ensure maximum shelf life. Store the product in a cool area, avoid long-term storage above 72 degrees F, and be careful to not puncture the cans. Under conditions, Mountain House meals will maintain its shelf life for product quality flavor and nutritional value. Once open, contents should be used immediately. However, product resealed used plastic recloseable lid has been found to be acceptable up to one week after opening. This package is sold by weight, not volume. Some settling may have occurred due to shipping, handling or variations in the product density. |

I have never eaten a freeze dried anything before, but I am just starting to do some stockpiling to prepare my family for an emergency situation. Before I go out and buy a bunch of freeze dried foods in bulk, I bought one at a local sporting goods store to try it out. I had very low expectations when I brought it home in the pouch.
After making it this morning, I opened the pouch, again with low expectations and I was extremely impressed with the taste and quality of this product. It tasted better than any continental breakfast eggs I've had at any hotel or buffet.

i purchased the pouch size of this meal and was very impressed. eggs are very good and it had a lot of bacon in it. i recently purchased a large can of the same product and it had a mere sprinkling of bacon in the entire can. the eggs are really good, but the large can needs more bacon to make it a meal (Posted on 10/14/10)
